INDIANAPOLIS, Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000 - Before leaving the United States on Saturday night, Max Mosley, president of the FIA, said:

"Unfortunately, major commitments oblige me to leave before the end of this extraordinary weekend at Indianapolis. "I have been very impressed by the standards here and by the outstanding quality of the entire Indianapolis facility. Formula One has now added to its World Championship calendar not only another state-of-the-art racing venue, but also one that is internationally recognized as an historic center for motor sports. "I would like to thank and congratulate Tony George and everybody at the Speedway, as well as the ACCUS officials, for their commitment and achievement. "I would also like to thank all of the American fans and media for the warm and enthusiastic welcome they gave to Formula One for our comeback to the United States."
