JUAN PABLO MONTOYA (No. 3 Williams-BMW FW26/BMW P84/Michelin):

"I had too much understeer in the corners. It was very similar to Ralf's setup in way in terms of how the car runs, so I'm a little bit disappointed. I think with a better balance, we could have done quite a bit better, but I'm pretty pleased. I think we have a good race car." (Was the track slippery?) "No, you just go into the corner, and you get a lot of push. The track is pretty good. It doesn't have a lot of grip, but it's the same for everybody."

RALF SCHUMACHER (No. 4 Williams-BMW FW26/BMW P84/Michelin):

"It was decent qualifying, nothing special. It has been difficult the whole weekend." (About the track conditions with the increase in winds): "With the wind changes, it's always a problem. And here, it's gusting sometimes and it keeps changing, so it's not the same track conditions for all drivers."

DAVID COULTHARD (No. 5 McLaren-Mercedes MP4-19/Mercedes-Benz FO 110Q/Michelin):

"It was just one corner, where the car is unpredictable, so that was despite a balance adjustment after the first session. I tried to replicate the lap and spent more time in the corner, basically got the car out of shape. You end up getting more traction control, and it soaks up a lot of time here. I left the car exactly the same. I was reasonably happy with the balance of the first run, and I didn't have any bright ideas of how to improve where we are, so I decided to leave it. Maybe the tires where a little bit different. I spent more time fighting in the corner." (Have you already decided you'll like the new car more than the old?): "I'm just hoping. Ready for some positive news." (What is your aim for the race?): "To finish."

KIMI RAIKKONEN (No. 6 McLaren-Mercedes MP4-19/Mercedes-Benz FO 110Q/Michelin):

"The car has been difficult to handle all weekend, but we got it better for qualifying. We might be better in the race than many people expect. Let's see what happens. I don't think we expect to finish on the podium, but anything is possible. We will just go out and do our best and try to score some good points."

JARNO TRULLI (No. 7 Renault R24/Renault RS24/Michelin):

"It was a steering wheel problem. I'm sorry I have to start from behind."

FERNANDO ALONSO (No. 8 Renault R24/Renault RS24/Michelin):

"We managed to find a good setup. For me, the car was OK. We managed to find a good setup in the car. I feel happy with the setup. For tomorrow's race, I think I have to be confident. The car improved a lot from this morning. I'm sure all the teams will have different strategies this year because it's very open from a strategy point of view. It will be an interesting race."

TAKUMA SATO (No. 10 BAR-Honda 006/Honda RA004E/Michelin):

"On the main straight, I struggled with the wind. It was a great lift up for the team. After having a difficult free practice yesterday, it seems we're back on the pace. I was very comfortable, and the car was very good" (How difficult to beat the Ferarris?): "It's always difficult to beat the Ferarris. They have such a good car on the long run. But I think we will have a very good strategy, and we seem to be very consistent on the long runs."

JENSON BUTTON (No. 9 BAR-Honda 006/Honda RA004E/Michelin):

"When (teammate) Taku (Sato) did his run, obviously, he was running after me, and the circuit was cleaner. He was running more wing than me. They said to try it, and we did. It was pretty awful, actually. Too much oversteer." (So hindsight, you would have kept the car as it was?): "Yeah, because it's difficult to know when you are going out third. You don't know what to do with the balance. I would have thought we would have learned from Taku's run, but obviously we didn't. We had a lot of oversteer in the car, and struggled quite a bit."

GIANCARLO FISICHELLA (No. 11 Sauber-Petronas C23/Petronas 04A/Bridgestone):

"It was not too bad. The last two races, our pace in the race was good. The problem is just the qualifying session, but we know that. So, tomorrow we have to be careful just in the beginning of the race and then go to the end and score some points. The car is better today, but still not perfect."

FELIPE MASSA (No. 12 Sauber-Petronas C23/Petronas 04A/Bridgestone):

"For sure, our lap time was not that good, but I am happy with the car. For sure, it will be a very, very, very tough race. I think we can do something in the race, and I think our car is always better in the race than in qualifying. Today, the car was a little bit better, and I pretty much think that tomorrow will be even better."

MARK WEBBER (No. 14 Jaguar-Cosworth R5/Cosworth CR6/Michelin):

"I'm really happy with it, actually. We're in a pretty good position for the race, I think. It's just, the qualifying laps were quite stressful because they are easy to get wrong and not easy to get perfect."

CHRISTIAN KLIEN (No. 15 Jaguar-Cosworth R5/Cosworth CR6/Michelin):

"I'm really happy about my qualifying lap. The weekend so far has been really good, at least with the performance. I tried to push it a little bit too hard in the middle sector and lost a little bit of time there, but I think we have good balance for the car, so I'm looking forward to it. We hope for the best. I think we are on a good strategy for the race. The car looks good on the long run, so it should be OK."

CRISTIANO DA MATTA (No. 16 Toyota TF104/Toyota RVX-04/Michelin):

"Based on the practice sessions and the first qualifying run today, I think I was expecting a little bit more from the car. Just went out, and I couldn't attack the circuit as I was able to before. But so I wasn't able to get as much grip. But generally we've been in good shape compared to previous races. So we see where everybody else ends up and take it from there tomorrow."

OLIVIER PANIS (No. 17 Toyota TF104/Toyota RVX-04/Michelin):

"It was a very good lap. I think we did a very good job yesterday. We did a lot of things; we have a good base of the car. I think I start really positive for tomorrow." (Any temperature issues?): "Not really for me. My car looks OK more or less similar compared with my first lap qualifying. No, everything looks OK. Temperature from Michelin was good. No big issue, really."

NICK HEIDFELD (No. 18 Jordan-Ford EJ14/Ford Cosworth RS2/Bridgestone):

"We struggled more with our car balance. We improved quite a lot over the weekend, but during qualifying the balance was very, very difficult. It will be interesting to see how the others will do with the temperature going up and the wind increasing. I think it is more difficult for everybody. As it gets hotter, at least for our car it will make it worse, and if the wind is more gusty, it's worse, as well. My lap was OK, but it was quite the difficult lap because the car was very nervous to drive, a lot worse than this morning. We did improve the car over the weekend."

GIORGIO PANTANO (No. 19 Jordan-Ford EJ14/Ford Cosworth RS2/Bridgestone):

"I'm pretty happy about the qualifying. I know I made a little mistake on the corners 7 and 8, but I'm quite happy because I'm there, I'm not far away and tomorrow we'll see on the race. Unfortunately this morning, we had some problems, and I couldn't run on this track to learn a little bit more, but I think we are in a good position. I'm close to my teammate and we hope for a good race tomorrow, Probably for us it (the weather) was a little bit better today. This air temperature, with the tires, it made us change our strategy."

GIANMARIA BRUNI (No. 20 Minardi-Cosworth PS04B/Cosworth CR3L/Bridgestone):

"It was good, the run, the pre-qualifying lap. We had better balance, and the times show that. On the second lap (of qualifying), the balance changed completely. The temperature went a little bit higher. And we saw in the past when the temperatures went a little bit higher, our cars can't do more this year. So I lost two-tenths just from the previous lap. It was a lot of oversteer, and it was difficult to find the balance going through the infield. Anyway, I'm looking for tomorrow. We're not very far from Jordan, and they've got a more powerful engine and everything, more budget, unfortunately for us. We are eight-tenths, nine-tenths off of them. We try to be close as much as we can. Corner 9 and 10 is where we lost the time. It is difficult to beat them, but I am sure we can be closer then what we show now."

ZSOLT BAUMGARTNER (No. 20 Minardi-Cosworth PS04B/Cosworth CR3L/Bridgestone):

"I don't think it was quite as fast prior to this qualifying run. For me, I had the best car in this morning in the second session, the fourth timed session. I did a big mistake throughout these two runs, especially in the second qualifying. But anyway, I'm trying to do it better tomorrow, have a better balance for the race. I think the infield is quite difficult, especially for the tires this time, because it is very hot at the moment and a lot of temperatures going in, so we have to be careful tomorrow." (Does it get discouraging not being able to move up?): "Yeah, for sure. It will be my first time. I should be happy I didn't make any mistakes, and I couldn't leave my qualifying lap. And I had already some good runs yesterday and this morning. Unfortunately, today on the important part doesn't came everything so well together as I wish to. I think more important is, for sure, is the qualifying."
