Jarno Trulli's fourth place in the Monaco Grand Prix could be under threat due to an irregularity with a device on his Renault revealed in post race scrutineering. No details have been given but an FIA statement said the race results were "subject to satisfactory identification of the relevant electronic unit on car 14."

It appears that a seal on the 'black box' was missing or damaged which led to the FIA investigating further -- missing seals could be evidence of the black box having been tampered with in some way. The same thing happened to Mika Hakkinen at the Austrian GP in 2000 which led to McLaren losing their points although Hakkinen kept his race points.

The investigation of the Renault cannot be carried out at the Monaco circuit and the FIA will announce its findings and any subsequent decision later in the week.
