Motorsport.com - After a lengthy post-race scrutineering session, the stewards at the United States Grand Prix have disqualified the fourth-place finisher, Jarno Trulli.

Trulli's Jordan-Honda was determined to be in violation of article 3.13.d of the FIA Formula One Technical Regulations, as the car's skid block had an insufficient thickness at the end of the race.

As a result, Eddie Irvine (Jaguar) is now classified in fourth, Nick Heidfeld (Sauber-Petronas) in fifth, and Trulli's teammate, Jean Alesi, in sixth place.

The team has the right to appeal the stewards' decision, and B&H Jordan Honda has confirmed that it will be lodging an appeal of the disqualification.
