Toyota has confirmed the launch date of its 2003 challenger as Wednesday January 8th, at the team's home circuit of Paul Ricard in France. The TF103 is now currently the first of next season's cars to be unveiled, followed by Jaguar on January 13th and Sauber on February 9th.

New Toyota drivers Olivier Panis and Christiano da Matta are expected to be in attendance at the launch, while in the mean time da Matta starts the team's winter testing programme today in Barcelona.

Toyota surprised many when it decided to let go of both 2002 drivers Allan McNish and Mika Salo in favour of a fresh start for next season. Panis previously drove for BAR and da Matta was this year's CART champion. The team expected a tough debut year in F1 and finished tenth in the Constructors' standings but is aiming to improve in 2003.
