An employee in Toyota's aerodynamics department, who formerly worked for Ferrari, has been questioned by investigators in regard to supposed espionage. The investigators and German police visited Toyota's base in Cologne last week after an Italian court looked into allegations of the employee passing confidential information from Ferrari to Toyota.

The man was taken into custody: "He was briefly questioned and they looked at his computer. He resumed his work normally the next day," Toyota spokesman Andrea Ficarelli told Reuters. "This has nothing to do with Toyota and for that reason we will not make any further statement."

"The company is not subject to any investigation. Investigators simply wanted to talk to this man, who happens to work for us. There will not be any sanctions from Toyota against the man because from our side his behaviour is absolutely correct."

There was comment at the beginning of the season about the similarities between Toyota's TF103 and Ferrari's F2002. However, it seems at the present time that Toyota itself is not under scrutiny, only the employee.
