The second test session of the Toyota Formula 1 car finished at Circuit Paul Ricard on Tuesday 24 April. Test driver Allan McNish completed about 1000 kilometres in the week-long session. The car did not suffer any serious technical problems and did not go off-track once.

The weather remained good during the session, apart from the Mistral wind, common in this area of the south of France, which reached gusts of up to 104 kmh.

"With such windy conditions it made any performance development difficult," commented Allan. "We concentrated on the long runs which worked well and were consistent," he said.

Technical director Andre de Cortanze said: "After only the second test we are able to achieve so many kilometres. This shows great encouragement for the future".

The next test session is scheduled to take place at Circuit Paul Ricard towards the end of May.
