McLaren has announced that its new Renault powered MCL33 will be launched on February 23, a few days before Formula 1's 2018 pre-season testing begins.

The Woking-based outfit has big ambitions for the year ahead following its change of engine supplier, having overcome some packaging headaches to fit the new power unit in its chassis.

The car will be presented the day after Ferrari unveils its new 2018 car.

No location has been revealed for the McLaren launch, but it is likely to be in Spain.

Toro Rosso, which has taken the Honda supply that McLaren did not want, will launch its own car on the evening before the first test.

An event is scheduled for the evening of February 25.

The first Barcelona pre-season test begins on February 26, with it possible a number of teams may choose to simply unveil their cars shortly before running begins.
