The last test session before the next two races came to a close in France today with once again nine drivers from six teams on track. The Monaco Grand Prix next weekend is followed only a week later by the European GP so this week saw the teams hard at work in preparation.

In a repeat of yesterday's times, BAR's Takuma Sato was fastest with McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen second on the time sheet at the Paul Ricard high tech test facility. Sato's best was a 1:10.472, Raikkonen closing yesterday's gap of three tenths down to just six hundredths. The Finn's teammate David Coulthard was fifth fastest.

Juan Pablo Montoya was the best of the two Williams on track, third, team test driver Antonio Pizzonia clocking sixth. The duo finished a scheduled programme of tyres, set up and chassis development. Franck Montagny was again the sole Renault on duty, fourth on the time sheet. The Frenchman completed the most laps of the day, 163, working on tyres.

Toyota concluded its four-day test with Olivier Panis and Cristiano da Matta seventh and eight respectively. The main focus for the team's week was tyre preparation for the next three races, as well as suspension, set up and software configurations. Timo Glock completed Jordan's final day of the week with ninth fastest, also working tyres.
