After completing a successful test in Barcelona last week, Takachiho "Taki" Inoue will make his grand prix debut in a one race deal with the MTV Simtek Ford team at the forthcoming Grand Prix in Suzuka.

The 31 year old Monte Carlo resident's career began back in 1985, when he took part in the Fuji Freshman Championships. After two years he graduated to Formula Ford and in 1988 joined David Sears Motorsport, competing in both the RAC and Esso Formula Ford 1600 championships. 1991 to 1993 was spent in Japanese Formula 3, where he gained two fourth places and came ninth overall two years running. (1992 and 1993). This season he moved into F3000.

Taki's test in Barcelona, coupled with his knowledge of the Suzuka circuit, proved to the Simtek team that he was the ideal candiate to pilot the S941/004 at the forthcoming grand prix.

Mimmo Schiattarella, who finished 19th for Simtek at Jerez, will be S941/004's driver at the season's final grand prix in Adelaide.
