Robert Doornbos is set for different role this weekend

To serve the interests of the team, Robert Doornbos will not fulfil his regular role as Jordan Grand Prix test and reserve driver during the upcoming European Grand Prix. The 23-year old Dutchman will personally attend the seventh round of the 2005 FIA Formula World Championship though to support his team and their partners in other areas.

The decision of Dr. Kolles not to call up Robert Doornbos in his regular role next weekend at the Nürburgring was already planned and has therefore no further consequences for this season. Part of the 2005 contract which Robert Doornbos has with Jordan/Midland is that the team is free to test other drivers during this season.

During the European Grand Prix this weekend the team will take up this option for the first time. Robert Doornbos remains proud and happy to maintain the offer to race for Midland in 2006 and, together with his management, he keeps concentrated on this objective.

Next to this, the young Dutch ace looks forward to the next opportunity in which he can help the team as their test and reserve driver during a Grand Prix meeting.
