INDIANAPOLIS, Friday, June 10, 2005 - Speed Channel will provide complete coverage of the United States Grand Prix Formula One race, qualifying and practice sessions June 17-19 from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Live Race Day coverage from the 13-turn, 2.605-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course begins on Speed with an race preview show at 10:30 a.m. (EDT) Sunday, June 19. The live pre-race show starts at 1:30 p.m. (EDT) Sunday, June 19, with the race getting underway at 2 p.m.
Speed also will broadcast a feature looking behind the scenes of Formula One entitled "Inside Grand Prix" at 1 p.m. (EDT) June 19 Four hours of live practice coverage on Speed will air from noon-4 p.m. (EDT) Friday, June 17. Speed will telecast Saturday's practice session on a delayed basis from 1-2 p.m. June 18 and then televise qualifying live from 2-3 p.m.
Speed Channel's coverage team for the United States Grand Prix: Bob Varsha, play-by-play; David Hobbs and Steve Matchett, analysts; Peter Windsor and Derek Daly, pit reporters. Sam Posey, a former Formula One and Indianapolis 500 competitor and respected broadcaster, has joined Speed Channel's USGP broadcast team to provide feature commentary.
United States Grand Prix spectators and Indianapolis-area residents also can listen to the race live on local radio station WIBC-AM 1070, with coverage provided by the familiar voices of the IMS Radio Network from 12:30-3 p.m. (local time) June 19.
The IMS Radio Network's coverage team: Mike King, host; Dave Wilson, color commentator; Brian Livingston, pit reporter; Mark Jaynes, Chris Denari, Kevin Lee and Jerry Baker, turn reporters. Joining King and Wilson in the booth will be IndyCar® Series driver Darren Manning, who will serve as driver analyst.
ESPN2 will televise the Liberty Challenge Menards Infiniti Pro Series' race June 18 at the United States Grand Prix from 5-6 p.m. (EDT) Tuesday, June 21.
