Third and final day of testing for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro at Silverstone circuit which hosts the British Grand Prix on 15th July. Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello continued with the programme begun yesterday, concentrating mainly on setting-up the F2001 to suit this track and tyre testing. Furthermore, both drivers carried out some different start simulations. The programme went off trouble free, apart from an off track excursion for Michael. The driver was uninjured and the car undamaged.
"This test was very important in order to establish a base for settings for next month's race, given that the English teams have done more running here than us," said Rubens Barrichello. "There is still work today, but we have a good starting point. However, we should consider that, come mid-July the track conditions could be different. We also worked on tyres and I very satisfied with what Bridgestone is doing." <pre> Driver Car Time Laps Wurz McLaren-Mercedes 1.22.098 46 Hakkinen McLaren-Mercedes 1.22.647 55 Barrichello Ferrari 1.22.728 66 Schumacher M.
