The San Marino Grand Prix this coming weekend will be the tenth anniversary of the death of Ayrton Senna and the event is provoking many memories of the former champion. It's often debated who is the best between current champion Michael Schumacher and Senna, and whether the German would be so successful if Senna was still alive.

Whatever the answer to that question may have been, many would have loved the chance to see the pair fight it out on track when both were at their best. "For sure, a competition between Ayrton and Michael would be a fantastic spectacle," Senna's sister Viviane told Scotland's Sunday Herald newspaper. "The world lost it, which is sad, because they would have served up a thrilling show for the public."

"You can't dispute what Schumacher has achieved, and he has set records which nobody else has done. But Ayrton had the capacity for surpassing new limits all the time, and a love for daring, creative manoeuvres, which was special."

"Yes, he was professional, but he was also spontaneous and he laughed a lot. As I mentioned before, he knew deep down inside that there were bigger issues to worry about."

In commemoration of Brazil's F1 hero, Viviane and the Ayrton Senna Foundation, as well as the fans, will celebrate with the 'ImolaAyrton' event, which will run from 22nd of April until 1st May. Displays of Senna's cars and racesuits, along with a photographic exhibition at Sforza Castle, are part of the planned schedule.
