Heading for Brazil, Michael Schumacher is eager to get started on the third round of this year's championship after a slow start to his season. Schumacher has won twice at Interlagos in recent years, in 2000 and 2002, and it's one of the circuits he likes because of its technical and physical challenges.

"After the first two races where we were a little bit unlucky, I can't wait for the third Championship race to start," said the German. "Interlagos is a circuit I like very much because it is technically demanding and the races are often tough ones. This is because the track is physically testing because it is run anti-clockwise, unusual in Formula 1, and also the surface is uneven in some spots and so the car has a precarious grip at times."

The track for the Brazilian Grand Prix is a combination of high speed straights and twisting sections and the heat can be as wearing as Malaysia. The race demands high performances from both driver and car: "You are constantly correcting the line and this makes the race exciting," Schumacher added.

The champion believes Ferrari team mate Rubens Barrichello will get the fans on the side of the Scuderia and with the performance of the car, there's a good chance of a win for the team.

"In our F2002 we have a really reliable car, a crucial factor in a race like Brazil," he said. "We also have another advantage: the fact that, in Rubens, we have a Brazilian driver on the team and this will guarantee the support of the fans."

"I have great memories of racing in San Paolo and I am nervously waiting for the next challenge. In any case, we will fight for victory and start with the opinion that we have every chance of achieving this."
