Nick Heidfeld took over the driving at Silverstone today, the second day of Team Sauber Petronas' three-day test in preparation for next week's US Grand Prix at Indianapolis.

He set the fastest time of 1m 21.425s during the course of 70 laps. 2003 Sauber Petronas signing Heinz-Harald Frentzen will drive the car for the first time tomorrow.

Jacky Eeckelaert (Head of Vehicle Engineering):

"Once again our key focus today was to try a number of different aerodynamic configurations in the low to medium downforce range, confirming Felipe's work from yesterday prior to the US Grand Prix. The Indianapolis track is a compromise demanding low downforce for high speed on the straight but greater downforce for the tight infield. We progressed well today, and we were also able to carry out a tyre test programme for Bridgestone."

Nick Heidfeld:

"We were mainly undertaking further aero testing today and it was interesting driving round Silverstone with the very low downforce set-up that we will require as part of our package for the US GP".
