Nick Heidfeld completed an intensive full day test for Team Sauber Petronas at the Le Castellet circuit in Paul Ricard today. He concluded test and preparation for the Monaco and Canadian Grand Prix by setting the fourth time of 1.14.097 s during the course of 69 laps.

Jacky Eeckelaert ( Head of test team):

"We ran into a problem this morning when Nick's car developed an oil-leak after only seven laps. However after changing the engine we were able to get our program back on schedule and Nick completed our planned work on mechanical set-up, including launch control settings, in readiness for Monaco next weekend. Overall this has been an extremely satisfactory test that has enabled us to evaluate a number of different aerodynamic and mechanical set-ups for forthcoming races."

<B>Nick Heidfeld:

"It was a shame we lost a little bit of time this morning, but the Team did a fantastic job to get the car ready again and we got a lot of important work done this afternoon. Monaco is my favourite circuit. I am feeling even more optimistic after the results we have achieved here this week."
