Team RED BULL SAUBER PETRONAS began a three-day test at Italy's Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello today, prior to the Belgian and Italian Grands Prix. Fresh from his sixth place finish in last weekend's Hungarian GP, Nick Heidfeld was in the cockpit and will continue the driving duties tomorrow. Kimi Räikkönen will take over on Thursday. Nick Heidfeld completed 55 laps today, setting the second fastest time of 1m 25.364s.

Remi Decorzent (Race engineer): "We have to finalize the aerodynamic package for the C20 for the two forthcoming European races at very fast circuits, so we have a lot of data analysis and evaluation to conduct prior to them. We focused on that this morning, together with mechanical set-up work and work on different kinematic systems.

"This afternoon we planned to concentrate on tyre testing for the Belgian GP at Spa, but when it began to rain we switched to doing some wet track practice starts instead and will begin the tyre programme tomorrow when Nick Heidfeld will also do more evaluation work."

Nick Heidfeld: "We had a lot of new things to try on the car today, and generally the test went well. We gathered a lot of information, which will enable the engineers to make further assessments that we can further develop tomorrow."
