Team Sauber Petronas today continued its four-day test with the Sauber Petronas C21 in Monza. Nick Heidfeld was once again at the wheel and completed his program today. His fastest time today was 1m 26.083s, during the course of 49 laps. Felipe Massa arrived in Monza, ready to take over the driving duties tomorrow for the rest of the testing session.

Giampaolo Dall'Ara (Head of test Team):

"The weather delayed the program. It was still wet in the morning and started drying up in the afternoon. We planned to finish off yesterday's program and did some good work on aerodynamic and mechanical set-up as well as tire tests. However there was an unexpected incident with Nick's car. Part of the engine cover became loose, which triggered the fire extinguisher. We lost two hours to repair the car."

Nick Heidfeld:

"We have made good progress today. However, I lost two hours while the Team cleaned the foam in the car from the fire extinguisher. We lost momentum of testing when the track was dry. When we started again after 5.30 pm a light rain made it very slippery to improve laptime. Overall, I am well pleased with the way the car handled during the tests. We should be in good shape for the race."
