Nick Heidfeld completed his scheduled running during Team Sauber Petronas' second day of test program in Jerez de la Frontera today. He covered 66 laps and set a best time of 1m19.736s.

The Team will conclude the third day of its winter development program with Heinz-Harald Frentzen tomorrow Saturday December 7 when he will validate the data that Nick gathered.

Giampaolo Dall'Ara (Head of Test Team):

"Today we concentrated again on aerodynamic development and tried a number of different configurations. We completed also mechanical set-up work which included development work on new brake callipers."

Nick Heidfeld:

"My driving early this morning was enlivened when a bird hit my helmet while I was travelling at 220 kilometres. All I heard was the noise, but I did not feel the impact. When I got back to the pits we found the bird and lots of feathers in the cockpit. I do not know what it is about the car, but Heinz-Harald Frentzen had a similar incident during testing at Silverstone last year. Luckily this time the bird was a lot smaller! Jerez was overall a good test session with a lot of positive data for the aerodynamic. "
