Team Sauber Petronas continued its Spanish testing sojourn in Barcelona today, where Nick Heidfeld covered 93 laps in the single Sauber Petronas C22 and set the sixth fastest time of 1:17.904. Nick will continue testing tomorrow, before flying to Lurcy-Levis in France for some straightline test work with the other C22. Heinz-Harald Frentzen will take over in Barcelona on Wednesday.

Jacky Eeckelaert (Head of Vehicle Engineering):

"It was cold to begin with today, but this morning especially the weather conditions were perfect for our programme of aerodynamic development which centred around trying different parts and their associated set-ups. This afternoon it was windier, which made it more difficult to gather data as the conditions changed lap to lap, but we were satisfied with our tyre testing for Bridgestone. We have some more new aerodynamic parts arriving from Hinwil tonight, so our programme tomorrow will run along similar lines."

Nick Heidfeld:

"I was pleased with the way that things went today. The car ran without problems and I covered one and a half race distances with complete reliability and at competitive speeds. I think we made some good progress."
