Team Sauber Petronas began its preparations for the British Grand Prix with a three-day test in Barcelona today. Nick Heidfeld completed 86 laps and set the third quickest time of 1m.20.115s. Felipe Massa will drive for the next two days in Barcelona and Team Sauber Petronas will continue with a similar program.

Jacky Eeckelaert (Head of Test Team):

"Our program this morning focused on aerodynamic test work for Silverstone. This afternoon we tried the Bridgestone tires that we will use there next week-end. Barcelona is a very useful circuit for test working readiness for Silverstone because although the ambient temperature is not always the same, the surfaces are very similar."

"This gives us some extremely valid data. We also did some further work on our launch control and evaluated some new brake components and completed some tire development for Bridgestone. We had a very positive day with absolutely no problems".

Nick Heidfeld:

"It has been a very constructive day for us. We completed considerably more than a Grand Prix distance in total. I am pleased with what we were able to accomplish. I am now leaving for Vairano (Italy) and for the next two days I will be completing some straightline aerodynamic validation with the rest of the Sauber Petronas Test Team."
