Jaguar Racing got off to an encouraging start this morning to their preparations for the San Marino Grand Prix when Antonio Pizzonia and Mark Webber scorched round the Imola track first and third quickest in the two hour test session.

"The car feels like it has a good basic balance," said Pizzonia, "and this gives us a good base to work from."

"The big issue at this track is always brake durability," said Mark Gillan, chief of vehicle dynamics, "and this is what we have been chiefly working on. We're making progress with that but there's still a bit of work to do."

Webber was happy with ho his session went. "We were just dialling the car in and doing the tyre choice runs. It feels pretty good with one or two areas to work on but nothing serious."
