Promoted: Sainz and Leclerc drive into the Desert Sun

Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will be wearing limited-edition clothing styled on the famous Desert Sun for the upcoming race in Las Vegas, as part of team partner Puma’s increasingly long line of unique event gear.

The two drivers have been seen in many different special styles from the sportswear manufacturer in recent seasons and will now sport clothing with ‘natural fading and distressed elements’ from the latest collection, which is also available to fans.

Ferrari finished second and sixth on their last visit to Las Vegas, where Puma marked the event by with a range of radical red gear emblazoned with white flashings, in collaboration with renowned artist and designer Joshua Vides.

Prior to that, Puma had developed a special ‘Giallo Modena’ yellow range for the Italian Grand Prix in 2022 – which also saw the drivers switch to yellow race suits – in celebration of Ferrari’s 75th anniversary.

And earlier this year, for the Miami Grand Prix, another special collection saw a radical switch to light blue, reflecting the clothing the team’s drivers and mechanics used to wear in the 1950s and 60s, with the drivers switching to light blue race suits.

This latest limited-edition Desert Sun collection, Puma says, is inspired by the vibrant energy of Las Vegas and the rugged beauty of the Mojave Desert, with a transformation for both the company’s Lifestyle collection and a Replica line.

The Lifestyle collection features casual apparel and accessories for everyday wear, while the Replica line includes gear identical to the clothing Leclerc and Sainz will wear in the paddock during the race weekend.

The designs reflect the natural fading and distressed aesthetics of the Mojave Desert, with the Replica line including a tee, hoodie, the iconic cap and the Speedcat PRO shoes and the Lifestyle collection offering a variety of apparel, footwear and headwear.

The apparel range includes hoodies, graphic t-shirts and shorts, available in red, white, and black, as well as sweaters featuring the numbers 16 for Leclerc and 55 for Sainz – potentially the last item for fans to celebrate the Spaniard’s time at the team before his departure.

The collection also offers four unique graphic Las Vegas tees, the footwear features the Ferrari Suede XL in red and black and as the Ferrari GC Special and the headwear options include two trucker hats in white and black.

The Scuderia Ferrari Desert Sun collection will be available for a limited time only. It is now available in selected PUMA and Ferrari stores, as well as online at puma.com and store.ferrari.com
