The German benefited from a terrible start by pole-man Lewis Hamilton to control the race from the start, never being threatened.

Rosberg led all but one lap of the race to reduce the gap in the standings to Hamilton to just two points.

It was the Mercedes driver's seventh win of the season. It is the first time Rosberg won the Driver of the Day vote.
