The Mild Seven Renault F1 Team today completed an encouraging second day of testing in Valencia in spite of two engine problems which interrupted the team's running. Jarno Trulli, at the wheel of chassis R202-05, joined Fernando Alonso, with both drivers conducting development work on the traction control system as well as evaluating a number of engine modifications. They managed to complete significant mileage during the day's testing.

"We can be encouraged by our work today," said Mild Seven Renault F1 Team Technical Director Mike Gascoyne. "In spite of the engine problems, I think we have proved the modifications, while our traction control work continued in a positive manner."

"This morning went extremely well," continued Jarno Trulli. "Although the engine problem meant I didn't run this afternoon, I'm pleased with the balance we found, and it's a shame we couldn't get more done. Even so, I'm my knowledge and understanding of the car is improving all the time."

Testing will continue tomorrow, Thursday 2 May, with Fernando Alonso and Jarno Trulli.
