First run for fifth chassis of Mild Seven Renault F1 Team

In unusually sunny April weather at the Silverstone circuit, the Mild Seven Renault F1 Team today ran chassis R202-05 for the first time, with Jenson Button at the wheel. The team's programme concentrated on engine development and chassis set-up work for the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix on 29 April. Following an engine change during the lunch break, an engine failure curtailed the team's running during the afternoon session, although Jenson nevertheless set fastest time of the day.

Commenting on the day's running, Pat Symonds, Executive Director of Engineering at the Mild Seven Renault F1 Team, said: "Today's test was quite productive. In spite of the engine failure, some useful work was done on new suspension components and on engine modifications not connected with the failure. Overall, Jenson was very happy with the car's performance."

The Mild Seven Renault F1 Team will continue testing tomorrow with Jenson Button.
