Mild Seven Renault F1 today began a three day test at the Barcelona circuit in Spain. Jarno Trulli took the wheel of the new R202, successfully completing a number of long runs during the afternoon and continuing his familiarisation with the car. The Italian also completed three shakedown laps in last year's B201, preparing the car for test driver Fernando Alonso tomorrow. Mike Gascoyne, Technical Director of Renault F1 UK, commented: "After a frustrating morning, which was cut short by several minor technical problems, Jarno managed to complete a productive afternoon's work, and was once again pleased with the consistency and responsiveness of the new car." Tomorrow, Tuesday 12 February, Jarno Trulli will continue testing in the R202, while Fernando Alonso will undertake electronics and systems development for the 2002 season in last year's B201.
