Red Bull announces split with title sponsor Infiniti

Red Bull Racing has confirmed that title sponsor Infiniti will cease to be a partner of the team from next season.

Luxury car-maker Infiniti, which is part of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, joined Red Bull as a sponsor in 2011, and became title sponsor of the Anglo-Austrian outfit two years later.

However, as part of the new settlement with Renault that will result in the French marque’s power units being rebadged as Tag Heuer in 2016, Infiniti branding will no longer feature on Red Bull's cars.

A team statement said that the new arrangement “does not cover any marketing activity for the Renault-Nissan Alliance.”

"We would like to say a big thank you to Infiniti for their contribution to the team since they joined us as a commercial partner in 2011,” said Red Bull team principal Christian Horner.

“They became the title sponsor of the team in 2013 where Infiniti enjoyed greater visibility than any other manufacturer in the sport.

“We wish them all the best with their plans for the future."
