Ralf Schumacher's future at Williams has been uncertain for quite some time but the German claims he will definitely be in Formula One next year. However, even he is not sure which team he will be with. Despite often being linked with Toyota, Schumacher seems keen to stay with Williams. But talks between the two are currently stalled and the Toyota rumours are still going strong.
"One thing is certain, I will be in Formula One," Schumacher told reporters in Barcelona today. "I just don't know where I am going to be next year but it's nothing to do with (the team) discussing whether I am good enough or not. It is basically in my hands to decide what I want but we still have to wait."
"I have been a long time with this team, working very hard, and in general I still believe that Williams is, and always has been, a very strong team and I still believe in the ability of the engineers."
Schumacher has had an erratic time in the races so far this year but he says he's as determined as ever: "I am pretty motivated, and basically just upset with what has happened this year with my own performance and the car," he added.
Whether Schumacher can improve on that performance this weekend is yet to be seen but he believes a podium finish is achievable. "I don't think miracles should be expected," he said earlier this week. "But it's clear we are able to fight for podium positions, like we did in Imola, and collecting as many points as possible is the most important thing."
