With the opening race of the season just around the corner, Ralf Schumacher is still undecided whether to wear glasses for racing. Since it became evident that he would need some help with his eyesight he has been experimenting with glasses and contact lenses -- he says the contacts are not as good as glasses but is having problems finding suitable frames to fit under his helmet.

“ I tried them at Valencia and I still haven't made up my mind. The quality of glass is always better than a contact lens - don't ask me why - but I'm still working on the perfect frame with Oakley. I want one that fits under the helmet and doesn't disturb me, but I've yet to find one I like.” He explained.

Concerns were raised about the safety of wearing glasses for racing, that there could be added danger if they were to shatter in an accident, but Schumacher is confident the bullet proof glass of the lenses would not present extra risk.

"It shouldn't do, because it's bullet- proof." He said. "I'm short-sighted, but I don't need to wear glasses in normal circumstances. For racing, however, I'm sure they'll be an advantage. Last year there were a few times where I was on the limit, visually.”
