World of F1 races to the aid of Chris Mays Foundation
Some of the biggest names in Formula One have donated unique items of signed memorabilia for an on-line auction which started this week in aid of former colleague, hospitality manager Chris Mays, who was severely injured in a tragic motorcycle accident in Thailand last year.
The auction has been organised by Absolute Authentic, one of the worlds leading authenticated signed sports memorabilia companies. Drivers including Michael Schumacher, Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello have been joined by teams such as McLaren Mercedes, Red Bull Racing and Super Aguri in donating the signed items which will be auctioned on www.absoluteauthentic.com commencing on 8th September 2006.
Among the wide range of lots being auctioned are pairs of race overalls belonging to Ferraris multiple World Champion Michael Schumacher and Williams revelation Nico Rosberg, while bidders can also compete for helmets belonging to Jenson Button, Jarno Trulli and Takuma Sato.
Mays, who suffered multiple injuries in the horrific accident and requires around the clock care, faces an uncertain future. His partner and their daughters run the risk of financial hardship. This unique Absolute Authentic auction will raise funds for the Chris Mays Foundation, a registered charity, the proceeds from which will be used to care for both Chris and his dependents.
This represents an extraordinary opportunity to bid for a piece of unique Formula One and motor sports memorabilia, whilst at the same time directly contributing to a worthy cause and one which has already touched the hearts of the leading lights in the sport.
Absolute Authentic has worked directly with the drivers, their managers and the teams to ensure that every item is fully authenticated and guaranteed to bring joy to the successful bidders in addition to generating much needed funds for the Chris Mays Foundation.
