The Prost Acer team conducted this week a three-day test at the Magny-Cours track in preparation for the French Grand Prix (1st July) with Luciano Burti at the wheel of the AP04.

The team mainly focused on a specific set-up programme for the Magny-Cours track as well as tyre evaluation. During the whole session, weather conditions were dry and particularly hot for the season and the track temperatures reached on Tuesday and Wednesday - between 45 and 50 - allowed some interesting evaluations of the tyre wear for Michelin. The team also worked on various new elements, such as new rear suspension parts, and continued putting more mileage on launch and traction control. Unfortunately, on Wednesday morning, Luciano went off the track and several aerodynamic components were damaged. Due to the time needed to manufacture new parts for the Canadian Grand Prix, the team chose to go back to the old aerodynamic and suspension configuration until the end of the test session.

However, the overall session was very positive : the team completed the set-up and tyre selection programme, finding some good directions of work for the French Grand Prix.
