Jacques Villeneuve's manager Craig Pollock has denied there is a possibility the Canadian may take a break in 2003. BAR recently signed Jenson Button for next season but didn't reveal who would be partnering the Englishman in the team.

Villeneuve or current team mate Olivier Panis have yet to be confirmed by BAR although it's presumed that Villeneuve will be staying. However, the situation is murky to say the least but Pollock is adamant that Villeneuve will be staying.

"Olivier has contributed a lot to what BAR has achieved in the last couple of seasons and there might be a solution that can work for all parties involved, but I can't tell you any more at the moment," Pollock said.

"Jacques has every intention of racing with BAR in 2003. He has a very solid contract already with BAR, the last year of a three-year contract. There is no question of Jacques taking a sabbatical, it's never even come to his mind."

Villeneuve and BAR boss David Richards are said to be negotiating the terms of the Canadian's contract: Richards commented earlier this year that perhaps Villeneuve's salary could be put to better use in the team.
