Williams test driver Antonio Pizzonia topped the times at Jerez for the second day running on Wednesday, setting a best of 1:16.478. The Brazilian continued work on brakes, systems checks and tyre evaluations.

Ricardo Zonta carried on his Brazil preparations for Toyota in second fastest and the team also had Katsuyuki Hiranaka from its Driver Academy at work, rounding off the times in ninth.

Renault tester Franck Montagny was joined by racer Jacques Villeneuve and the pair were third and fifth respectively. McLaren's Alex Wurz and Pedro de la Rosa continued working on set up for Brazil and were fourth and sixth on the time sheet.

Enrique Bernoldi was again the sole BAR on track, seventh. He worked on set up and tyres in the morning and tyre evaluations for 2005 in the afternoon, racking up the most laps of the day, 135. Björn Wirdheim was on duty for Jaguar and was eighth quickest.
