It has been a week of mixed fortunes for the Benetton team this week. Antonio Pizzonia made his test debut for the team this week, and impressed the team with his pace, ending up only a second shy of Fisichella.

The week has not been so kind to Fisichella who was involved in a frightening accident with Jarno Trulli. Fisichella came across Trulli in a slow corner, and he couldn't get around, and ended up touching the Jordan, launching it into the air, and landing nose-first into the gravel. The car couldn't be fixed at the circuit, while Fisichella escaped with a bruised thumb. On Thursday, Pizzonia continued testing alone, and ended up .2 seconds shy of Trulli, and .6 seconds shy of Sauber's Salo.
