Pirelli has confirmed it will run a one-day tyre test in Abu Dhabi after the final race of the Formula 1 season.
The test will take place on December 1, the Tuesday after the season finale, at the Yas Marina, from 9am to 9pm.
It will be used exclusively for tyre development work and teams will not be allowed to test new parts or alter their cars during the day.
Pirelli said it has suggested the teams to only run race or reserve drivers in the test, although, as reported by Motorsport.com, rookies will also be allowed.
All of the teams involve will field one car each, but participation is voluntary, and Pirelli will define the test programme for each car.
Manor has already announced it will not take part.
Pirelli requested the test in order to develop the new construction for the 2016 slick tyres and also to test the new ultrasoft compound, which will be introduced next year.
The ultrasoft will be distinguished by purple markings on the sidewall after Pirelli asked the fans to vote for their favourite colour.
