Pirelli has announced the tyre compound choices for the first race of the 2016 Formula 1 season, the Australian Grand Prix.
The Italian manufacturer has chosen the medium, soft and supersoft compounds for the season-opening race.
Under the new tyre rules for 2016, each driver must have both these sets available for the race, and must use at least one of them.
Pirelli has assigned the supersoft tyres for Q3 in qualifying.
Each driver will have to save one of the softest tyre compounds for Q3. The set will then be given back to Pirelli by those drivers who have qualified in the top 10.
The remaining drivers will have the extra set available for the race.
As reported earlier this week, teams have until today (11 December) to make their tyre nominations for the Australian event.
Teams will have 13 sets of tyres available for the weekend, so they need to choose the compounds for the remaining 10 sets.
