The Silverstone-based squad has taken up an option to keep the Mexican for 2017, but separate talks with his sponsors mean his future at the team is still uncertain.
Although Perez admitted he wanted to finalise his future during the summer break, he said on Thursday at Spa that it was still early days for him.
"I think it is a bit early in the year," said Perez. "Obviously as a driver you want to know what you are doing as early as possible just to have the stability on the back of you, but it doesn't change anything.
"Right now I am focusing on this weekend. I want to achieve a very good second half of the year and that is where my target is at the moment.
"I want to achieve as good a second half of the year as possible and to give everything to get the Williams in the constructors'."
He added: "I knew it is always complicated in the way that my deals work, with my sponsors etc., So in that respect it is a bit more complicated. But it doesn't change anything to be honest.
"It is just a matter of time to know where my future will be. I have stopped worrying about it and I just want to focus on this second half of the year."
The Mexican admitted, however, that he will not be able to wait much longer to sort out his future.
"Obviously it cannot take that long any more. In three months the season is over, so I hope well before the season over I know my future."
Desire to stay
Perez insisted that he wanted to stay at Force India, but suggested his sponsors are yet to commit.
"It is not that I want to leave the team. Don't get me wrong," he said. "I've always said I'm very happy, that I love this team, I am very, very comfortable and I believe in the future of this team.
"So I am not making them wait or hanging or anything like that. I think the ball is more on our side with my sponsors, with the way we are dealing with things.
"Obviously it is not an easy decision on what to do. But as I say, I am relaxed in that respect and I am not concerned any more.
"In the last races I was thinking a bit too much in that regards but now I am more relaxed, I know that whatever will come will be the best for me and that is what I will do and I will give my best."
