INDIANAPOLIS, Tuesday, March 22, 2005 - Tickets for the United States Grand Prix on June 17-19 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway are available now at three new locations for the convenience of fans.
Fans can purchase USGP tickets at both Brickyard Authentics Stores locations, at Circle Centre Mall in downtown Indianapolis and the Indianapolis International Airport. Tickets also can be purchased at the Photo Shop on the second floor of the Hall of Fame Museum at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Tickets also can be purchased online at www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com, by calling the IMS ticket office at (317) 492-6700 or (800) 822-INDY outside the Indianapolis area or in person at the ticket office in the Administration Building on the corner of 16th Street and Georgetown Road. Parking and camping information also can be obtained through the ticket office.
"The Hall of Fame, airport and Circle Centre Mall are among the busiest, most visible destinations in the Indianapolis area for visitors and area residents," said Joie Chitwood, Indianapolis Motor Speedway president and chief operating officer. "These new ticket locations will make it even easier for fans to experience the unique sights, sounds and excitement of Formula One at Indy."
The United States Grand Prix returns for the sixth consecutive year to the 2.605-mile road course at IMS. It is the only round of the prestigious, 19-race Formula One schedule in the United States.
Race day ticket holders also are eligible to participate in the free USGP pit walkabout on Thursday, June 16. During the pit walkabout, fans can walk the pits and stand adjacent to the open garages, providing a clear view of the sleek cars, high-tech equipment and skilled personnel of all 10 Formula One teams, including standouts Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, Mild Seven Renault, BMW WilliamsF1 Team, Lucky Strike BAR Honda and West McLaren Mercedes.
Other attractions also are scheduled for the walkabout, including an autograph session with past and present Formula One greats, a question-and-answer session on the Pagoda Plaza Stage with F1 personalities, a Car Corral featuring displays of exotic cars, live music on the Plaza Stage and a variety of food concessions in the Plaza.
A full schedule of support series, including the IRL Menards Infiniti Pro Series, will race during the USGP weekend.
