It’s that time of year again, where we need to establish the Top Five drivers of the year, in descending order, with your Driver of the Season at the top.
This is the fifth year we’ve run this popular competition.
And to add a bit of fun to it, all responses will be entered into a draw and the the first five entries which match my selection, which will be revealed next week, will receive a free signed copy of our review book of the season; James Allen on F1 2013: Winning at all costs, which is on sale now.
Leave your Top Five list in the comments box below – the closing date for entries is Monday December 23rd.
It was a pretty one sided championship, but how do you judge what Vettel did in comparison with others who had slower cars and still got great results? Fernando Alonso, for example, finished second in what was clearly not the second fastest car.
There were some other strong performances this year from drivers throughout the field, Hulkenberg had his moments, Grosjean came good in the end, Rosberg won two races and scored pole positions, it's not an easy one this year.
We want to hear what you think about the five drivers who you think did the business this year, with a line or two about them (please no 1,000 word treatises!!).
The prize is a signed copy of my 2013 Review book, which is a limited edition, large format soft paperback. This is the fifth year we have done the book and it’s a cool collectible – a great way to look back on the behind the scenes stories and the races which made up the year. You’ll be surprised how much you’ve forgotten of the way the stories developed as the year went on.
I’ve written loads of linking copy which gives a hindsight perspective on the key stories of the year like the Pirelli tyre failures, Raikkonen leaving Lotus, the edging out of Ross Brawn at Mercedes, Ferrari's infighting when the season derailed, Bernie Ecclestone's legal challenges and much more. The Foreword this year is written by David Coulthard.
If you can’t wait to find out if you’ve won or you just want to make sure you secure your copy before it sells out (as it usually does around New Year), you can order one here for £10-99 plus postage (most countries around the world are served).
