Jaguar Racing today announced that both Eddie Irvine and Pedro de la Rosa will continue to race for the Formula One team in 2002. In addition to race duties the two drivers will take on a more a significant role in testing than last season, contrary to the new practice among some teams of hiring two or more dedicated test drivers.

Andre Lotterer will be the team's official test and reserve driver, and will focus all his efforts in 2002 on testing the R3. "There's a lot of technological difference between F3 and F1 so it's a great opportunity for to learn more in the highest form of racing," he said. The young German will be joined on occasions by James Courtney, who raced for Jaguar in the British Formula Three championship last season.
