1994 Barber Pro Series racer Juan Pablo Montoya was a featured guest on the New York-based "Late Show with David Letterman" last night. The Colombian pilot appeared on the CBS network show days before competing in the US Grand Prix at Indianapolis. The Williams-BMW F1 driver is well-known in US motorsport circles having won the CART Championship in 1999 and the 2000 Indianapolis 500 on his first attempt.

"I am pleased to race at Indianapolis again," said the Skip Barber alumnus. "The circuit holds sentimental value for me as when I raced in CART my team was based here. I have good memories from then, as well as of course winning the Indy 500."

He continued, "I'm probably going to see all my old friends out there, and we'll be sure to make it as entertaining as possible. It's going to be an interesting weekend, no doubt about it."

Montoya is still chasing his first win of 2002 even though he has scored seven pole positions. Winning this weekend's race would make him only the fifth man in history to win the Indy 500 and US Grand Prix.
