Today (14th January 2003) Castrol, the leading brand of Oil in Formula One, announced that Juan Pablo Montoya is to endorse Castrol products for 2003 in a new deal. This endorsement is in conjunction with Castrol's sponsorship of the BMW WilliamsF1 Team.

David Baldry, Chief Executive, Castrol International said: "We are very much looking forward to working with Juan Pablo Montoya over the coming year. We feel his personality and his attitude to his profession closely complement our brand values with his passion and commitment to performance and winning."

"This is a very exciting arrangement for Castrol, coming as it does just after Montoya received his Golden Helmet award for the Fastest F1 Driver lap of all time in Monza 2002 qualifying. It is great to be involved with a driver who is so passionate, exciting and always delivers a superior performance."

Montoya will be responsible for endorsing Castrol brands such as Castrol Syntec (available in the US) and Formula RS and SLX in Europe. The sponsorship deal includes print adverts, personal appearances and point of sale branding.

Juan Pablo Montoya commented: "I have been using Castrol products since joining the team in 2001. I am very excited about 2003 and can't wait to challenge for this year's driver's championship. The performance of the car is as important as my driving skills, so it's great to be working with a trusted partner like Castrol who also like to lead the field when it comes to Formula One racing."
