Only two teams took to the track in Valencia, Spain today where in sunny, warm conditions the track was artificially soaked to practice wet weather conditions. All present were running on Michelin tyres.

Williams' Juan Pablo Montoya topped the time sheets with a fastest time of 1.29.640 over 38 laps. Team mate Ralf Schumacher was half a second behind.

Tim Newton, Williams' Test Team Manager said all had gone well. “We recorded 812km today between the two FW24 chassis and one FW23A, with all three cars running to plan. We split the day into two sessions and artificially wet the circuit to conduct a full wet test for in the morning, and an intermediate tyre test for Michelin in the afternoon.”

The other team present was Renault, with test driver Fernando Alonso third fastest and Jarno Trulli -- who experienced mechanical problems with the R202 -- fifth, either side of the Williams' tester Marc Gene.
