Following the news that Cosworth has been sold to ChampCar co-owners Kevin Kalkhoven and Gerald Forsythe, Minardi has confirmed it will be supplied with Cosworth engines in 2005.

"Due to the timing of the announcement, however, the team will be seeking to operate its 2004 car and engine package for the first three races of the new season," said a statement from Minardi.

Team principal Paul Stoddart had previously said Minardi would run with its own engines if necessary, although the units would be older ones. The sale of Cosworth now ensures the team will have a supply of Cosworth TJ engines next season.
