Schumacher to race in Malaysia and Japan

Michael Schumacher has stunned the racing world by announcing he will race in Malaysia. A spokesman for the team, Claudio Berro, said

"Michael saw there had been a big improvement in his physical condition and therefore he has decided to take part in the two final and very important races of the season to give the maximum support to Ferrari in the fight for the Championships and to fulfil the wishes of the team and all the fans."

Michael Schumacher has spoken to the news agency ANSA about his return to F1 in Malaysia.

"The belief that I'd be able to make it has grown bit by bit over the last few days. What was important was seeing how much the team wanted me to be there. I'm not at 100 percent, but I've realised that I have to be there. Obviously, I too wanted to make this comeback, but I had to convince myself (it was possible), and these practice sessions, first at Mugello and then at Fiorano, gave me the confirmation. And then, there was also the desire to help the team and to help Eddie."

He further went on explain why he'd only a few days beforehand said he wouldn't race. "When I made it known that I wouldn't be in a condition to race, I wasn't bluffing. I felt good, but it's one thing to go for a walk in the park and it's another to endure a Formula One grand prix."
