Michael Schumacher has been speaking on his prospects for this year - and the future - in F1. "I'm very hungry because I missed a good opportunity last year and I feel the opportunity is even greater now because we seem to be prepared so much better. All this together makes me very optimistic, very hungry, very motivated. I believe we are perfectly prepared for the weekend."
"We have 600 people working for Ferrari, everyone is as motivated as ever to do the job. In my fifth year with Ferrari, besides the defence of the constructors championship, my overriding aim is to win the drivers championship. I am confident we can achieve this.
On his relationship with Irvine he said "I honestly had good relations with Eddie, even though there was a lot of stories in the media which mostly were not true. I don't see any reason why we can't have parties in the future even though we're not in the same team."
"I believe I have quite a job to do right now - to win the championship with Ferrari which is long enough and hard enough - and not to worry about things in the future. I think I'm young enough to do this for sure until 35 and we will see what happens afterwards."
Ross Brawn, meanwhile, said "The F399 was a good and reliable car, it only broke down twice in a race and its only flaw was a lack of performance early in the season. Therefore we had a good base to develop the new car from. Most importantly we have achieved better integration between the chassis and the power unit and extended our development time to be more competitive in the first race."
