The West McLaren Mercedes team began a three day test at the Paul Ricard circuit today, focusing on developments for the forthcoming Monaco Grand Prix.

Kimi and Alex were both present at the French circuit today, using the short configuration (3.593 km), which represents conditions similar to those the drivers will experience on the Monaco street circuit.

Kimi's programme today was focused on Michelin tyre work for Monaco, testing the prime and option tyre for the forthcoming race. He completed short runs in the morning and three long runs in the afternoon.

Alex was working on set up work for the Monaco race, focusing on front and rear suspension work. He had a couple of minor interruptions in the morning, but ran without any problems in the afternoon.

Kimi was the fastest man on the circuit with a time of 1m04.106s, while Alex was 11th fastest with a time of 1m05.813s.

Kimi will be joined by Juan Pablo at the circuit tomorrow.
