Juan Pablo Montoya and Kimi Raikkonen will go up against each other on track as McLaren teammates for the first time at Jerez testing this week, an event eagerly anticipated by many. The pair tested on separate days before Christmas and fans have been impatient to see what happens when they hit the track together.

Montoya will not be surprised if Raikkonen is initially ahead. "I would expect that he would be faster than me as he has been driving the car for years as I would want it to be the same of me if it were the other way round," said the Colombian.

Much has been made of the seeming differences between Montoya and the Finn but Juan Pablo claims that they actually get on very well and have a lot in common. "We have always made the effort to talk during the driver's parade, perhaps more so since we knew we were going to be working together," he commented.

McLaren's five day test commences on Wednesday 12th with Raikkonen and tester Alex Wurz on duty. Montoya joins the action on Thursday when he and Raikkonen will finally meet up on track as teammates. BAR and Williams are already at work at Jerez and Ferrari, Toyota and Renault are also expected to test this week.
